029 - Lions on a Banner
My 6th experience from Bull of Heaven, and favorite piece at this early stage of exploration.
Lions on a Banner exudes a mystical quality, with tightly compressed sound and constant flow. It's a beaming sound of layers that intertwine out of sync, so one sound byte can briefly shine above rest.
With the cover art, it impresses a feeling of the esoteric. I visualize a stream of energy encircling oneself, with a powerful sheen similar to how the audio peaks.
And while its ending is a mere fade-out, a slow dissolve is deeply satisfying for this piece, from ethereal sound into silence. It felt gorgeous.
I quite like this, and it stands as a great example of low-bitrate enhancing the listening experience.
